TRION-ENVIRCO OPENS NEW CLEAN FFU MANUFACTURING FACILITY

Air filtration specialist Trion-Envirco has opened a new production facility for its top-selling Mac 10 Series of FFU's (Fan Filter Units) in Alburquerque, New Mexico, USA. Built to meet expanding market requirements for ever more reliable, high quality units, this new manufacturing centre is currently the only facility world-wide capable of manufacturing FFU's under cleanroom conditions.

Opening of the new 65,0000 ft2 facility is part of Trion-Envirco's $2.5 million investment programme to meet increasing FFU demand from both established and emerging, clean manufacturing sectors throughout Asia, Europe and the USA. The plant will supply Mac 10 FFU's for use within semi-conductor, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and electronics manufacturing applications. Production capacity will also satisfy the growing need for high efficiency air filtration from customers in high-grade plastics and glass production, metals processing, aerospace and the defence industries.

Production and testing processes at the new Trion-Envirco plant are designed to meet the highest quality standards, minimising the risk of FFU failure and resulting downtime on site. FFU assembly is carried out to the class 10,000 cleanroom standard, with units emerging from the assembly area automatically heat-sealed into shrinkwrap packaging ready for delivery to the client. Filter testing, utilising the latest in laser particle scanning technology, is completed in a class 100 cleanroom.

Fully CE/UL marked, complying with Federal Standard 209E and exceeding IES-RP2 recommendations, the Mac 10 FFU continues to set the standard in cost effective, air filtration. The unit's impressive international success has been built on its ability to deliver reliable, value for money air filtration for an increasingly diverse range of clean manufacturing environments.

At a rated air flow of 0.45 m/sec, the Mac 10 offers Standard (600mm x 1200mm nominal) HEPA filtration with speed control and exceptionally quiet operation at noise criteria 45 (nc45) at 50dBA. This low noise performance is achieved through the unit's patented VE5 baffling system which ensures a uniform airflow across the filter face whilst attenuating sound to this ultra-quiet level.

The standard Mac 10 provides a minimum efficiency of 99.99% at 0.3 microns. ULPA filters capable of removing particles of 0.12 micron or larger at 99.9995% efficiency can be fitted for critical applications. Units are modular in design and are available with a range of options to meet varying installation and customer requirements.
