TRION PROVES THE EDUCATED CHOICE FOR ASTON UNIVERSITY

Aston University students will now be able to enjoy a well-deserved break in a clean, odour-free environment, free of tobacco smoke, following the recent installation of Trion's G100E and G200E units in the university's student union bar.

As part of a £70,000 refurbishment project, 'Einstein's' on the university's Birmingham campus, now features four Trion G200E units installed above the huge bar and one smaller G100E series air cleaner, serving the booth seating area. These modern, smart-looking units complement the trendy bar's interior design while providing quiet, high efficiency removal of cigarette smoke from the space.

John Silver from Trion's Birmingham based distributor 3D Air Systems Ltd who supplied the units and oversaw the installation explains the reasons behind G Series specification. "Being the main campus bar, Einstein's was regularly packed full of thirsty students, many of whom smoke. Consequently, the atmosphere could quickly become extremely smoky and unpleasant. Our task was to find a high-performance purification system for this huge space which could also fit within the ultra-modern interior design. Trion G Series units were the obvious choice. "

Designed for fixing to a solid ceiling via a mounting plate, Trion G200E and G100E series units provide efficient air purifying performance at air volume rates upto 2000m³/hr and 1000m³/hr respectively. Their sleek, contemporary design is perfectly in keeping with the ambience of Einstein's, whilst with noise emissions as low as 33dba at low speed, the units cause minimal disturbance. G series models incorporate remote infra red control operated from a tiny, hand-held transmitter. Other features include dual voltage electronic cells for higher efficiency and optional carbon after filters to assist with odour removal.
3D Air Systems Ltd were also responsible for the installation of two Supreme units and an S60 which have been fitted in the university's designated smoking area, The Blue Room.

With over 50 years experience at the forefront of air cleaning technology, Trion provides the hospitality sector with the widest range of multi-fix electrostatic air cleaners on the market. These include the 60 and 120 Series units, the AL, G, and FL range of ultra-modern wall and ceiling mounted air cleaners together with the established Space Saver, Supreme, Triumph and Max V units.

Trion has vigorously supported the AIR Campaign since its inception, as well as the test procedures carried out by BSRIA to verify noise levels, air volumes and cleaning efficiency of air cleaners as part of the Public Places Charter (PPC). All Trion products are being tested under this initiative and the results will be published in due course. Trion is part of the Fedders Engineered Product Group.
