The Trion Smoky is a small, portable cartridge-based air cleaner providing efficient dust and fume control in low volume welding, grinding, polishing, buffing and other machining applications.

Weighing just 17 kg and with unit dimensions measuring only 570mm (height) x 530mm (length) x 210mm (width), Trion's Smoky is ideal for use in confined spaces which are beyond the reach of fixed systems or larger mobile units. Typical applications include the collection of smoke, dust and metallic particulate from vehicle repair bodyshops, shipbuilding yards and fabrication shop operations and from awkward areas where welding is taking place, such as, on the inside of tanks, tubes or other difficult to access places. The operator simply needs to carry the unit into the space, plug it in, connect up and then position the appropriate hose and nozzle attachment for the Smoky to operate effectively.

The Smoky is suitable for air volume rates up to 200m3/hr, operating at an efficiency up to 99.97%. Contaminated air is drawn through the unit's extraction hose. Dust and smoke particulate is then removed by Smoky's polyester filter cartridge and clean air is returned to the workplace by a high performance turbine. The cartridge is cleaned by a Rota-Jet compressed air cleaning system, collected dust dropping into a drawer at the base of the unit for easy removal and disposal.

Quiet in operation, the Smoky is soundproofed to maintain a working noise level of just 72dBA. The unit is delivered pre-assembled, ready for immediate use, and complete with a 5 metre power cable, 5 metre extraction hose (50mm diameter), quick connection coupler and a choice of two different nozzles. Integrated extraction is possible through the direct connection of a welding torch hose to the unit's air intake point. Low cost replacement filters are also available from Trion and the Smoky requires minimal additional maintenance to provide many years of reliable, trouble-free operation.
