TRION INTRODUCES PORT-A-CART
PORTABLE CARTRIDGE AIR CLEANER

Sanford, NC, April 16, 2004 – Trion Inc., a division of Fedders Engineered Products, introduces the Port-A-Cart Portable Cartridge Air Cleaner for industrial use. The Port-A-Cart helps to eliminate smoke, dust, powders and other dry process pollutants before they adversely affect indoor air quality and worker productivity.ThePort-A-Cart incorporates the latest technological advances in filtration design and is ideal for applications in which large pick-up hoods are impractical, dust and smoke-producing machinery are used intermittently and employees work at multiple stations.

“The Port-A-Cart is adaptable, efficient and easy to maintain,” said Dave Bubb, Trion’s Director of Representative Sales. “Port-A-Cart’s parabolic hood and inlet flange make the device most effective in capturing smoke and fumes at further distances, compared to standard designs that allow contaminant bypass.”

Port-A-Cart’s most significant benefit is that it helps to meet OSHA air quality standards. Its other advantages include enabling employers to reduce the health and safety hazards that cause workers to experience respiratory ailments and reducing maintenance costs by eliminating smoke and dust before particles settle on equipment and work surfaces.

The Port-A-Cart’s direct-drive backward-inclined blower overcomes high static pressure to provide longer filter life and greater reliability, making it unnecessary to replace belts or pulleys. Trion’s nanofiber technology provides up to 99.8% filtration efficiency on dust particles of 0.5 micron and above. The Port-A-Cart’s fire-retardant cartridge is easily accessible through a removable filter door.

Easy to Operate

The Port-A-Cart purifies indoor air in three easy steps: 1) Contaminants enter the Port-A-Cart through the unit-mounted swing arm and hood; 2) The cartridge filter removes dust, powders and other dry particles; and 3) Clean air is re-circulated back into the work area.

Port-A-Cart options include an off-line, reverse cleaning system, which directs compressed air through the filter, dislodging collected particles into a dust drawer for storage and removal, as well as a bolt-on 99.97% high efficiency particulate (HEPA) after-filter.
