TRION
INTRODUCES AIR BOSS® DOWNFLOW
DUST COLLECTION SYSTEMS
Sanford, NC, August, 2004 – Trion
Inc., a division of Fedders Engineered Products, introduces the Air Boss® Downflow
Dust Collection Systems, a full range of single-station units
and facility-wide solutions that controls contaminants in manufacturing
and industrial processing environments. Air Boss® Downflow
Dust Collection Systems can help companies meet or exceed NIOSH and
OSHA requirements for re-circulation of plant air by providing 99%
efficiency in capturing sub-micron particles of smoke, fumes, wood,
fiberlass, food mixes, composites, plastics, marble, carbon, ceramics,
cotton, dry chemicals, powders, rubber, toner and cement.

“Air Boss® Downflow
Dust Collection Systems are ideal for mitigating the adverse air
quality effects of grinding, sanding, foundry work, welding, blasting,
soldering, powder coating, metallizing, finishing, deburring, polishing,
material handling, laser cutting, plasma cutting, mixing and milling,” says Dave Bubb, Trion’s
Director of Representative Sales. “Our dust collection systems
can help manufacturers and processors: 1) Protect employee health;
2) Improve productivity, morale and product quality; 3) Reduce
maintenance costs; 4) Comply with government regulations; and
5) Enhance company image.”
Air Boss® Downflow
Dust Collection Systems’ advantages
include:
- Efficient dust handling from capture to disposal
- High-performance
cartridges that are vertically oriented for even dust collection
and efficient cleaning
- Full range of sizes and filtering velocities
- Patented venturi-assisted
design to optimize reverse jet pulse cleaning and increase
filter life
- Cylindrical fan housing to reduce noise, simplify maintenance
and eliminate the need for a discharge damper
- Vertical design that
has a smaller footprint than comparable units
- 11-gauge steel fabrication and welded seams/joints designed
and tested for Seismic Zone 4
How Air Boss® Downflow Dust
Collection Systems Work
Contaminated air enters the collector above the filter cartridges.
Specially designed components in the cabinet uniformly distribute
the contaminated air across the top of the filters. The contaminated
air flows downward without the detrimental velocity spikes that
are common with inferior designs. Air movement and gravity both
convey dust to the setting area below the filters, and extremely
small particulate is collected on the filter media, allowing
clean air to return to the workplace. When particulate collection
reduces airflow, the patented reverse jet pulse cleaning system
is activated to propel the collected dust off the filters and
into the settling area.
