TRION INTRODUCES VOMP 600 VERTICAL OIL MIST PRECIPITATOR

Sanford, NC, April 13, 2004 – Trion Inc., a division of Fedders Engineered Products, introduces the VOMP 600 Vertical Oil Mist Precipitator . This electronic mist collector removes oil/coolant mist and smoke at the source and is ideal for screw machines, surface and centerless grinders, CNC machining centers, turning lathes and parts cleaning systems. The VOMP 600 helps bring facilities into compliance with OSHA and EPA standards while improving employee safety and working conditions, protecting equipment, plant fixtures and work-in-progress while reducing plant maintenance costs. The VOMP 600 can be mounted directly on the machine tool for source capture of contaminants such as water-soluble, synthetic and petroleum-based coolants and smoke.

“The VOMP 600 enables employers to comply with the letter and spirit of important federal regulations,” said Dave Bubb, Trion’s Director of Representative Sales. “This product exemplifies Trion’s continuing ability to anticipate the needs of the marketplace and meet them effectively.”

Features, Benefits & Functions

The VOMP 600 is up to 95% efficient on particles of 0.3 micron and above (D.O.P. standard). By cleaning and re-circulating indoor air, the VOMP helps to minimize the cost to re-heat or cool air, and its low airflow resistance also helps to reduce energy costs. Because the VOMP can be mounted on a wall, platform or machine, it eliminates the need for elaborate duct work and saves floor space. The VOMP can be wired directly to the machine tool control so it operates only when the machine tool does. Its collector cell is made of all-aluminum construction, which eliminates filter replacement costs.

Key Specifications

The VOMP 600 can move 300-800 CFM. Its input voltage is 120-240V/60Hz/1ph and its output voltage (KVDC) is 11/5.5. The VOMP 600 has a ½ HP fan and has a single cell weighing 29 lbs. It has a height of 42.9”, a length of 17.4” and a width of 21.7”. The VOMP 600 weighs 121 lbs., has an impinger or metal mesh prefilter and is housed in a heavy-gauge steel construction cabinet.
